Min. Yolanda Kimble

Yolanda was the only child born to the union of Harold and Eleanor Wilson Kimble on July 7, 1968, in Gadsden, Alabama. She grew up with her maternal grandparents (Rev. T.R. and Sis. Juanita Wilson) being a strong influence in her life. Yolanda learned about the love and mercy of our heavenly Father, and the saving grace of His precious Son Jesus at an early age. She joined the Galilee Baptist Church at an early age, under the leadership of Rev. G.E. Robinson. As a young child, Yolanda was active in Sunday school, Sunbeam Band, youth choir, Vacation Bible School, and the Sunday school and BTU Congress. She is a product of Gadsden City Schools and a 1986 graduate of Gadsden High School.

At the age of 11, Yolanda’s grandfather was called into the ministry of our Lord and began pastoring. The entire family joined Mount Zion Baptist Church, Guntersville, AL under his leadership. Once again, she was faithful in Sunday school, and church youth activities. At the age of 14, her father, accepted his call into ministry. Upon graduation, Yolanda attended Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. After a family tragedy, Yolanda sought the peace and redemption of Jesus, and rededicated her life to His service. Yolanda joined Union Baptist Church, later United Christian Church (UCC), under the leadership of Apostle Maurice K. Wright, where she grew in the wisdom, knowledge, and stature of the Lord. In 1992, Yolanda married and was blessed with two beautiful children. She and her family joined the ministry of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, under the leadership of her father, Pastor Harold Kimble, and was trained in and actively involved in various ministries, such as Greeters, Armor Bearer, and Youth Leader. Yolanda was instrumental in forming a Christian Youth Greek Organization and Step Team as well as a thriving weekly Teen Bible Study, at Mount Zion.

In 2007, Yolanda joined with the Abundant Life Church, under the leadership of Bishop Terry A., and Lady Charlotte Jones. In 2008, she accepted her call into the ministry, and in January 2009, she delivered her initial public message of the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, entitled “From Religion to Relationship”. Yolanda became active in ministry, again working as a Youth Leader, Director of the Greeter’s Ministry, and Correspondence Coordinator for Bishop and Lady Jones, in addition to becoming a faithful member of the Ministerial Alliance and Altar Workers. Yolanda also served on the ALC Board of Directors. In 2010, she was elevated to Youth Pastor at ALC. Yolanda was directly responsible for all youth activities from Children’s Church thru Teen Ministry. She coordinated and facilitated youth lock-ins, family movie nights, VBS, Wednesday Youth Bible Study and Weekly Children’s Church.

In 2019, Yolanda was led by the Spirit of the Lord, back to Mount Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of her father. She has continued to be active and faithful in the ministry. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Yolanda worked with Pastor Kimble, and the audio/video ministry to ensure Mt. Zion’s virtual presence during the physical church closure. With her assistance, a Facebook page was established for the church and without missing a beat, Sunday Worship Services and Wednesday Bible Studies were available on FB LIVE, and on conference call, and a method of electronic giving was established. In addition, an interactive conference line was established which allowed members to participate in weekly Sunday school. Yolanda worked with Pastor Kimble and his designees to fulfil his vision of the development of this website, to further the Gospel Message.

In the midst of her service to the Lord, and the people of God, Yolanda completed her formal education, graduating from Faulkner University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management in 2001. Honoring one of her grandfather’s last wishes, Yolanda earned her Master of Business Administration in Management in 2004. All throughout her professional and ministerial career, a constant theme of youth and education has been her driving force and passion. In 2006, she answered her vocational call, following in the footsteps of her beloved grandmother, and became a secondary educator. Yolanda began her teaching career as a Business Education Teacher, at Litchfield Middle School in 2006. In 2010, she was transferred to Gadsden City High School where she continues to teach, Management Principles, and Career Preparation. Yolanda is also the Athletic Academic Advisor and assists students who are continuing their education on athletic scholarship, with ensuring that they are in compliance and eligible scholarship recipients. Yolanda has assisted dozens upon dozens of students continuing their education thru pursuit of their goals of playing their sport at the postsecondary level, and even in the NFL.

Yolanda’s passions include knowing God and to making Him and His Kingdom known, FAMILY, and to building up and encouraging others thru Faith and thru education. Yolanda’s is a woman of faith, who strongly believes that education is the great equalizer, Yolanda firmly believes the Word of God that she can do all things thru Christ, which strengthens her.

Honoring her grandmother’s wishes, Yolanda facilitates a weekly Family Bible Study and Prayer Call. Yolanda is the proud daughter of Pastor Harold C. Kimble and Ms. Eleanor Wilson Radney, the blessed mother of children Jordan (24) and Joshua (22) Juddine and grandmother of Jaidence McCord (3).
